Challenges faced by most of the writers while writing their first book and its solutions.

Major challenges faced by writers while writing their first book

Every work comes with its own set of difficulties similarly does writing. Like all other people the magician of words or simply writers too face challenges and difficulties. These difficulties almost become double when a writer writes his or her first book.
First I will share my researched report which I have obtained from surveys and conversations with writers. Then I will also share my personal experience as a writer. We will together also try to find solutions for all problems. So let's go!

1. Time management

Most of the first time writers do some job or are students. So finding some free space in between their busy schedule sometimes becomes a work of great difficulty and even if they get some space at the end of the day that time they feel very exhausted after working the whole day. This is a quite common problem which many of the writers face at beginning and sometimes even after that. So now let's discuss an efficient  solution for this problem.

The Solution

I find two solutions for this problem in my memory. First the one is make writing your relaxation. I mean when you are exhausted after the whole day what do you do? According to one poll most people watch TV or use their smartphones for their relaxation and refreshment. So if you can make writing your way refreshment then you will surely never lack time for writing. This may sound crazy but do try it out. It really works. Second one is make a time table for you yourself and give writing any one or two hours of your day. No need to give a fixed time in day. Whenever you feel you have an idea just store it in your brain's memory and later any time throughout the day you may pen it down.

2. Criticism and demotivation

More the people get to know about you the chances of you getting criticized also increases. So what does that mean? Should you stop becoming famous and stop  conquering heights? No of course not. We will further discuss this in the solution but before I go to the solution let me clarify you one thing two types of people can criticize you one is who wants you to improve and another is the one who is jealous of you. Criticism often leads to demotivation and demotivation is another major problem which many first time authors face.

The Solution

The best solution for criticism is instead of avoiding it start accepting it. Doesn't matters whatsoever is the intention of the person behind it a person who criticizes you often tells you your faults and when you know your faults you can always learn from them and then work on them and improve yourself.
And the solution for the people who demotivate you is always talk to them with a smile in your face it eats up all their interest in the work and answer them with your work instead of your work. Another few ways to avoid demotivation are watch motivational videos, read our blogs and listen to music.

3. Forgetting ideas

Another big problem which all writers face irrespective first time or experienced writers and I myself have gone through is forgetting ideas. Sometimes you go to a beautiful places or sometimes thinking about some memorable situations of life something wonderful comes in your mind but later when you go to write it you just forget it. This somehow gives your mind a lot of stress and you start feeling low. So let's discuss what can be done for this?

The solution

Try to always carry a small pocket diary and a pen with you. Carry it wherever you go. Sometimes you don't have the chance to write the whole thing in a pocket diary so in that case only write the key words of your concept which will give you a perfect idea about your concept whenever you will copy it fairly. Or you can use your smartphone for it. Have a notepad kind of app in your phone or you can also record your idea in the voice recorder then afterwards copy it.

3. Self reflection

This is a very less spoken topic but it stills remains to be an arduous challenge which first time writers face. So first let me explain you this problem in details first. Sometimes when you are overflown with emotions you write it and that is really awesome of you and also a sign of a good writer but at times while writing that you often end up symbolizing yourself. Don't let people get an idea about your personal life as they read your book for your writing but not for knowing your personal life. In simple words write your feelings but not your experience. You can write something by getting inspired from those experiences but it's better to avoid writing direct experiences.

The solution

To be very honest this problem does not have a definite solution like the others. This problem is caused due to lack of professionalism and it automatically goes when you gain more and more experience in the field of writing but still one of the ways you can avoid it by rechecking your writing. Check it number of times and at different time intervals don't check it many times at the same time.

4. Fear

This is the most common challenge which first time writers face. Sometimes you have an idea but you feel fearful to express that thinking how people will react to it. This thing sometimes even leads to self doubt and you feel low.

The solution

The solution for this is a very simple one don't be an overthinker and concentrate on your present instead of worrying about the future. You can have a selected group of people with you, who will help you with all your self doubts and can review your ideas and whenever you feel low just remember God gave you one of the most powerful weapon the power of writing so utilize that to its best. Always remember my friend " Either today face fears or tomorrow shed tears." Now the choice is yours.

5. Distraction

It's very often that I have heard writers complaining about getting distracted and this issues I more with the first time writers. But nothing to worry about it's a part of our human nature. You may sometimes get disturbed due to noisy environment in your surrounding or may be due to social media addiction. So let's discuss a way out for it.

The Solution

A very easy solution for this can be select a good timing for your writing either try it very early morning if not then late night because these are two disturbance free timing of the day when you need not to worry about getting distracted by noise. Another thing to have a disturbance free writing is put your phone on silent mode whenever you plan to write or its better if you just switch it off and lock it in a wardrobe.

MY EXPERIENCE

More or less I myself as a first time writer had faced all this while writing my first book. Some other challenges I personally faced were lack of a good starting, losing the flow of writing and difficulties in editing. But instead of all difficulties when I published my first book it was an experience which words can't describe and feelings can't express. I hope you this helped you. Thank you.
